she doesn't sound like a true friend. those kinds of friends are dime a dozen.
If it's the case that you always give and she always takes, and she doesn't even thank you for it, then I think you were right in telling her how you felt about that matter. but if she helps you sometimes as well, in some ways, then I think you should have been a bit easier on her.
Either way, she shouldn't go behind your back and say bad things about you. that's just not right.
If you miss her friendship, just go talk to her...If she's an abusive friend, use this incident to break ties with her.
I hope it works out between you two.

You are very kind to offer much less give e ride out of your way.

People will take your kindess for your weakness. Sometimes tough love on a child helps them realize that you can't get nothing in this life being a Bum or a Leech; However, a Hobo at least will work for their money.

She works just like you and makes money just like you so it's important that the issue is how about throwing something in the kitty to help us keep giving you a ride because this car doesn't drive on water.

You have to be tough sometimes on cases like this for better results.

Look at it from a business side of thigns and do not cry for her for crying out loud. She's a grown girl. This is business.

Tell her what you want if she needs a ride weather she has the money or not. When pay day comes around...your palm itches so open it and she places the green back intact in your hands
Have a Nice Day

Your husband is right and she is no friend...Just a Leach. Tell people at work your side but take the high road and be nice about it otherwise they'll just look at both you as being Catty.

If she is affecting your work and depending on the company, you can anonymously report her to HR. Then she may not have a job and then won't need a ride. I wouldn't feel too bad about it either.

Is it appropriate to consider her a friend? The reason she is downing you at work is because now you've put her on the spot. Before you and your husband never said anything and now that she knows its a problem she is most likely embarrassed and in desperate need of another "free ride" I would simply and very directly explain to her ,the source, that you don't appreciate her discussing you or your husband with coworkers. If she is as simple minded as she sounds...drop her and save yourself the headache.

Never you encourage such people and please do not call them your friends. Keep a full stop to it.
You don't have to be harsh in saying no, politely you can say sorry, i have some urgent work to do and things like that if you do not want to spoil any relation between you and the person you are referring.

Talk to a manager about how you feel becuase this does sound like harrassement at the workplace.

seems to me your husband was right she was taking advantage of the both of you and the only reason she is saying things at work is because shes embarrassed about not having lisence and not having an automobile so why cry you have wat she wants. The reason she puts you down is because misery needs company

Sarah, face up to the truth this girl is not your friend. She is a loser. Use this rift between the two of you to break all ties with her.
