Should this be alarming?
Question Details: For a few weeks, I've been feeling sorta under the weather. I had major headaches that cause me to have to miss out on stuff, red thorat, being freezing cold, hard to swallow, and other things. Should this be alarming and I have a big dance performance coming up, what should i do?

Go see your doctor. It's spring now, do you think you have allergies? This could be the cause of your problems. If you have allergies, your nasal passages swell up, which can cause postnasal drip, which could be why you have a sore throat. If you don't treat it, you could get a sinus infection, which can cause major headaches and sinus pain. I know a girl who gets strep throat everytime she gets a sinus infection.
Without going to the doctor, you could try over the counter allergy medication. When your throat is really sore, you could go into the bathroom and crank up the hot water in the shower and breathe in the steam. You could also try decongestants. Tylenol makes some great sore throat medicine, that's a liquid. That would coat your throat and give you some pain relief.
I'm not doctor, so I could totally be wrong! You definitely want to get yourself better before your performance. Stress can also weaken your immune system.

It could be strep throat or a cold. You call call up the advice nurse for advice on weather to go to the doctor or not. They can also advise you on some medicine or things to do to help you feel better

It's probably not strep. Most of the time, strep does not last for a few weeks. A sore throat that lasts for a long time could be mono. If you have mono, you need to be resting, not dancing. Too much activity can result in a ruptured spleen. Please see your doctor immediately.

Yes this should be alarming! You should seek medical advice immediately.
I am no doctor, but I'd bet that one will tell you that you have an infection of some sort and may require antibiotics to cure what is ailing you.

Could be strep throat. I would definitely see my Dr. If left untreated, strep can cause many health problems not only with your heart but also your kidneys..

Jenna is right on the money- if this is strep, and it sounds like it- it is life threatening if untreated. You need to see a doctor today.
