i have a 36 corner.

For the longest time I kept 5 fish in it plus some topswimmers. I split it down the middle with slabs of slate turned upright, about 4-5 inches tall, and on each side, I put a 4" terra cotta pot turned on its side. Inhabiting the terra cotta pots were 2 breeding pairs of convict cichlids.

I also had a L-056 Chubby orange pleco in the tank, and a school of 10 glass catfish on the top layer. I tried hatchetfish before, but they all committed suicide by jumping out.

The convicts would fight over the center line day & night and they were a constant source of action. They would never hurt each other for real, but they would drag java fern back & forth over the line playing tug of war, trying to mark off territory. They also dug a lot of pits. You could level the gravel & they'd re-stack it in 2 days time how they saw fit.

You probably know the idea of keeping your tank stocked with about one inch of fully grown fish per gallon.
You could put some sharks in your tank, they are lively and usually don't disturb other fish. Also, some really pretty fish are beta (be sure to buy only one, as they will fight), discus, minnows, or koi. Something really interesting would be to look into getting an eel. from experience, they are VERY interesting pets to care for.
Try to get an array of different colours, but make sure to ask who ever is helping you at the pet store if they will get along well.

A pair of angels is wonderful in a nicely planted 40 corner tank (my friend set one up with my help, its beautiful). You can put some smaller fish like cherry barbs and platies in there for constant movement and action. Good Luck!

Some Longfin Zebra or Blue Danios would be great with your Swordtails. Get a group of 6 or more and they are wonderful, the danios are very active.

I believe the cory cats and a distinctive tetra mixture might additionally be an incredible concept. inspite of the undeniable fact that I won't pass with the killfish or the different stay breeders. That way it leaves your tank open for fry
