out and you're alone. It's daytime so darkness won't be a problem. But how do you entertain yourself?

hailing from the Buffalo, New York area, when we got hit with that suprise storm in October and over half a million people went with out power for over a week, here's what we did: played cards, kept warm from the fireplace, played more cards, kept as many candles lit in the evening as possible, went outside in the daytime, hung out in the evening. If you are by yourself, you can always play cards (obviously that is the only thing to do). Be creative. Clean your house, go through stuff you don't want anymore and throw it away. There is always stuff to do, but we rely on electronics (even light) to provide entertainment. Try to be prepared though. I can guarantee the sales of lanterns and generator sky rocketed in Buffalo after the storm!

Well, being in Florida where we have a hurrycane or two, and no power, reading helps, or get a radio with batteries and just listen to it for a while.
play solitaire or even poker with a few hands. LOL
wash the car in the rain. then let the rain rinse it for you.
before the lightning comes of course.

Its good to have candles, a battery operated radio and some battery operated "toys". Good luck and have a blast. Life is all about making the best of any given situation.

call someone. The power goes out but the phone still works. Go walk around DT and watch the restaurants freaking out because food is defrosting. Just wander around and see whatever.

I usually wind up on the floor playing with the dogs and if it's still daylight, maybe reading a book.

Take a nap. Read a book. Clean out your closet. Clean the bathroom. Fold the laundry. Rearrange the furniture.

I get out the shotgun and wait for the zombies to try and break in.

I bet you have some candles lit and are exploring the toy chest.
