No! I bled for longer then that! Some people just take longer to expel everything and to heal. The only time you should really call your doc is if you are in pain, bleeding more than a pad an hour or just plain old scared! Good Luck!

It's very likely normal, but call your doctor's office and speak with a nurse to verify.

Has the bleeding tapered off and is more watery and pinkish in color? If so this 'normal lochia' could continue for a few more weeks.

Did the bleeding tapered off and then become strong again? If so, you may have already had your first cycle after delivery.

If it's still bright red (did not go to pink or brown) this should be checked out.

If you have abnormally heavy bleeding - more than one pad in an hour or blood clots bigger than a golf ball - this needs to be checked out.

Congratulations and good luck.

no thats normal. Some women bleed for many months. I believe I did for at least 2 1/2 months. It wasn't the heavy bleeding like at the beginning though. thats one reason why they say to wait 6-8 weeks after the baby. and 6-8 weeks is 2 months so its all normal!! good luck though!

you may have just started your first period. after the bleeding from having the baby which can last up to 6 weeks you probably just started with the period this is the time to call your doctor too if you were wanting to start birthcontrol. other than that you are just fine the duration of bleeding for everyone is different.

Call your Ob's office and talk to a nurse. Is it bright red or brown? Brown is old blood that's working it's way out. You definitely want to seek some medical advice on this one. Better safe than sorry!

Have an Ob/Gyn or NP conduct a pelvic exam on you to check your uterus and cervix for injury. You could just be experiencing prolonged healing from afterbirth after vaginal delivery or a C-section.

Not unless you have other symptoms. With my first son, I bled for 4 months. Did you start birth control after you had your baby? That will do it also.
