What is the outside diameter of 1.25" conduit? If I'm not mistaken, 1.25" is the inside dimension. I'm drilling a hole to run the conduit through a wall and need to know what size hole to drill.
Thanks!

I'll be drilling though a piece of plywood.
Thanks!

Depending on what material you will be drilling through, an 1 1/2" bit should be OK. It will be tight. I've always used a 1 1/2" hole saw bit for wood and sheetrock, and a hammer for block. Hope this helps!

I know of three different kinds of electrical conduit: EMT, IMC, and Rigid. The outside dimensions of 1.25 inch conduit in order are: 1.51, 1.638, and 1.660.

You may need something a bit larger than 1 1/2 for a couple of those.

i agree with pumken. however, there is one more thing i would like to bring up. that is this, is the conduit going to connect to something on the other side of the plywood. for instance a fuse box, junction box, or some kind of pulling elbow. if something is going on the other side of the plywood you will have to make the hole big enough so the connector will fit into the plywood also. lots of luck and be care full electricity is nothing to fool with if you're not sure of what you are doing.

I agree with all the other guys. You can normally figure about a quarter of an inch for wall thickness, with rigid pipe.
