It is due to the makeup of the digestive tract. Rabbits poop little hard balls as do other animals. Most that poop balls are herbivores.

Animals that eat grass poop in balls and pellets, because it travels around and around in the stomache while it digests. Grass is really hard to digest, and it takes hours and hours for it to go thru this process. Cows have four stomaches, because grass is so hard to digest.

The same reason peoples poop is all different..... it has to do with their diet, what kind of grass their grazing on, that sort of thing. Be glad its in pellets and not a big pile!

Goats and deer also poop in pellets. It's probably partly their diet (grass and leaves and twigs) and partly the result of how their digestive system works.

Lots of reasons...
Some is because of their body mass, some because of their rather "unique" digestive systems, some because of their differential diets (hervivory, carnivory, omnivory, etc.), some does it to "conserve" energy (not spend as much energy) into pooping...

I think it has to do with how their digestive system works and how their rear "anatomy" is shaped? What made you think of such a question? hahahahaha
