I'm 13.5 weeks with baby#1 (Almost 3&1/2 months), i am eating fairly healthy, every day i eat a plain salad with some chicken salad or egg salad...(which are both homemade), however, i'm wondering if eating balsamic vinegar dressing, (because of the acidity) is safe to eat while pregnant...

Yes, vinegar dressing is safe to eat while pregnant.

Many women experience nausea and vomiting, often in the morning, during the first three months of pregnancy. A home remedy reported to help keep morning sickness at bay involves simply drinking, as soon as you get up, a glass of water containing a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

Also, a recent survey conducted at the Earth Clinic web site found that vinegar was the best of all the home remedies suggested to relieve heartburn.

If it isn't safe, I'm in trouble, along with a lot of other people, because I use it a lot. I just did a google search and some reading about this, wondering why you didn't do the same before asking, and the answer seems to be that yes, some balsamic vinegar does contain some lead. And probably so does a great deal else that you eat.

It is perfectly safe, it just might give you heartburn. If it gives you heartburn just drink something alkaline like milk with it.
