Yep, and Roger Maris' rookie card too.

Of course in those days, baseball cards came in packs of gum and were not big business for collectors.

A TCG usually stands for Topps Gum Company. If there are stats listed on the back, it age is usually 1 year beyond the last years listed stats. Older cards don't list many stats . You can usually find the year by the style on the face of the card, comparing it to listings in a price guide. BEFORE you sell or list it anywhere you MUST KNOW the actual value and decide how much you are willing to accept. Example : a card shop or dealer will usually offer between 10 and 15 % of the high list value. On a Mick maybe 20 % not much more. A private collector may offer up to 75 % depending on the grade ( what shape it's in ) of the card. Of course EVERYONE is out for a deal. Do your homework, then decide if you want to sell or not.

I remember reading a story about some kids who were members of their church youth group in the '60's, and the church gave them their own recreation room in the church basement. They literally wallpapered the walls of that room with '68 Topps baseball cards. They didn't know it then, of course, but that was like wallpapering the walls with money.

If I could build a time machine.....

I remember holding a handful of Mantle cards... he was my favorite player..... my mom threw them away.....

Who knew? The cards were great, but so was the stiff as a board gum.
