OK here's what i wanna know:

am i gonna need a passport for St. Thomas? i am going there the last week of june. ive been all over the internet, and i am so unclear.

on one hand, i should get it to be safe cause its out of the country.
on the other hand, St. Thomas IS a US territory, and many websites, including the government travel website, are saying because of that, a passport is not necessary.

I dont mind getting a passport but with 7 weeks left, i dont want to pay for a expedite fee if i dont have to.

i have no problem with getting a passport. my point is if i dont need it necessarily for this trip, then i can jus pay for the regular cost and not for me to receive it faster. i dont have any upcoming international travel.

No, you don't need a passport, but you should bring something that proves your citizenship, like a passport or your official birth certificate (not a photocopy) just in case. What if you want to go to another island while you're there? Some British territories will allow you with a birth certificate, some want a passport.

I am not sure, but contact a government agency near you and you should be able to get a definite answer. Happy traveling.

it is not required for travel between the mainland and us territories but it never hurts to have one, especially if you want to visit one of the neighboring islands

get the pass port. You don't need one for the USVI, but it is handy as an Id and should you go elsewhere, you are now ready to go.

If you're a US citizen and you're visiting a US territory, no, you don't need one.

Wouldn't hurt to get one anyway, though... Never know when you'll need it.
