For some children, teething can cause earaches. When my son started teething, that's when his ear infections started. He now gets an ear infection about the same time he cuts a tooth. The only way you can feel better about the situation is to take her in and get that ear checked. Ear infections are not something to mess around with. You should also check for any fever. Although, fever and earache can be caused by teething, if it's an ear infection it can cause deafness if not treated promptly...and correctly. I've found that the times we've dealt with ear infections, Augmentin works much better than Amoxicillin...and faster. You can also try giving her some Tylenol or Motrin. Some children, Motrin works better. All in all though, you should probably take her in just to make sure...especially if it's gone this long. You'll never go wrong by taking your infant to the doctor.

I have a 6 month old and she has been teething for the past 2 months and i took her to the doctor and no ear infections no nothing it just hurts her so she decides to pull at both of her ears!! Great for me i guess but my doctor told me that is there way to calm themselves down i guess you could say so let her she might have a small ear infection but nothing to be soo concerned on. They are just figuring out what everything is on there body at this age!

sounds like she is teething, but also has an ear infection, which probably makes the whole teething thing worse.
my son just had a double ear infection (7 months) and once we got that under control we realized he has 2 teeth coming in!!! poor kid had so much going on.
i'd take her to the pediatrician to be sure.
take care.

I would bet you money that she has an ear infection. both my children got ear infections every time they were cutting teeth. I was the same way as a child, as was my brother and just about every one else in my family.

Yes, any kind of pain or something going on in your mouth can spread to the ear and cause infection. Get her do the doctor and they can give you some drops for it. Even sore throat can spread to the ear. That happened to me.

Probably. The pain of teething can sometimes feel like an earache. Both of my sons did the same thing. If you haven't yet, check out "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and "What to Expect: The First Year". Both of these books proved to be invaluable sources of information for both me and my wife.

They can get an ear infection more easily because of all the drooling and extra fluid. If she doesn't have a fever she probably doesn't have an infection but you need to have the doc check it.

Yeah, sometimes it is related. Think about if you have ever had a toothache - the nerves to your ear are very close.
HOWEVER, it never hurts to have it checked by a dr anyway. Ear infections are nothing to play with.
