I was on Provera to regulate my periods as well. What you will do is take 1 pill everyday for 5 days, remember to take them at the same time each morning. After you have finished the 5 pills you will start your period within 10 days. You will only have 1 period, and it will most likely be a heavy period, due to you not having them for 5 months. After that your cycle will start over again, and you should have your period normally for about 4 months. After that you will probably need to take the 5 pills again. Provera is a form of Progesterone, so it is a form of birth control, but it does not build up in your system, just long enough to make you bleed. If you ovulate normally you should have sex about 10-14 days after the last day of your cycle. I hope this helped, Good Luck.

first of all provera helps you get your period 3-10 days after drinking the pills. i have the same problem and i ended up having pcos that is why my periods are not reg i have to take provera every month just to have a period i have also been trying to conceive and with out periods you don't ovulate and with out ovulating you cant get pregnant. so if i were you i would go to your Dr and ask them to chelk you for pcos and they will do blood work on you to chelk your hormone lev my Dr put me on prov era and once i got my period he put me on a fertility pill clomid that suppose to help you ovulate and conceive so ask about all this you could have pcos that is why it is causing you to not have periods. so good luck

since my husband and i wanted to conceive, i ran into the issue of not having normal cycles... they put me on provera to help get the period. the first time i took it, i had a period two days after taking the last dose of the provera. my most recent time on it, it came 10 days after i took the last dose, so it can vary.... i was to take it if i missed a period every other month, but before i would take it, i had to get a blood pregnancy test to make sure that i wasn't pregnant. on top of having that, once i went to a fertility place to see why i wasn't getting pregnant, they put me on chlomid.
