In China people love ugly christmas decorations. You can see paper santa claus pictures on the walls of restaurants, snow crystals, marry christmas written with spray can snow on the windows, etc...
It took some getting used to. Especially the christmas clock hanging in one of my favorite restaurants with a jingle bells tune like from one of those greeting cards. CONTINUOUSLY. With permission from the owner of the restaurant we destroyed the mechanism that produced the tune, which was more difficult than we thought.

The key is to use Red, Blue, Green, Purple, White and Gold colors.

Red - used for Valentine

Purple and Gold - used for Mardi Gras

Green - used for St. Patricks Day

Red, White and Gold - used for Easter

Red, White and Blue - used for Independence Day

Some people will use the RWB for Memorial Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day.

If you use Orange, you can combine the Purple and Gold and use it for Halloween and then used Gold, White for Thanksgiving.

A carefully planned scheme can be recycled throughout the year.

Yep I liked a lighting effect so much I left it up to enjoy all year round
