Do what you like to do...money is not nearly as important as making a difference in the world. The paycheck will NOT get you up every morning after you've had your fill of spending.

There's no such thing as a stress free life, but if you LOVE what you do, and you feel that you are making a contribution to the world, you will be able to look FORWARD to Mondays.

Don't worry about knowing exactly what you want to do at 18. I didn't find my "calling" until after 35.
Besides, after 25, and when your brain is fully developed, the world will look mighty different than it does now....
Hang in there and do what you love.

Try a career in advanced processing techniques. The human brain is supposed to have 10 to the power18 interlinks. With the new multi-processor chips already about to hit the market, it is conceivable that a one dimension higher than parallel processing can be developed that can come close to this.

Will it not be exciting to make a computer human analogous to Robert Heinlein's one in,'Moon is a Hard Taskmistress'?

I think in todays world people are evolving slower in the since of direction in life.. maybe because we are living longer and we know it.. who knows.. but 50 years ago at 17 your would have been married and had your life long job... in todays world not so much... it's fine to not know what you want just yet.. and to be honest.. don't try to force it or you will regret it.. go out.. try different jobs.. see what you like.. take your basics if you plan on going to college but don't commit to a major yet.. try a few classes from each.. talk to the military and see what they have to offer.. but again don't commit yet... weigh all your options and give it time.. you'll figure it out eventually.

lol well youre really looking for a stress free live i can tell. special forces, and cops have their moments of excitement, too bad thats all you have seen. with money you can buy yourself a vacation or go places that you might enjoy, foods, people, activities. anyways, my words will have no effect unless you do something.
