It really depends upon what you intend to print. Canon and Epson will almost always sync seamlessly with OSX. If you are looking for high quality imaging - Epson, however if you want a robust multifunciton unit Canan.

I have an older blue ibook and have used a Lexmark Z22, it is so light and travelled great when needed room to room. So I would suggest something along those lines.
