Sadly I admit that I am guilty of such behavior. I'm ashamed that my friends had such an influence over me, that I hated someone for no other reason. And the really sad thing is, now 7 years after graduation those people aren't even my friends anymore.

Naw, I have always been an independent thinker. If friends were pushing me to not like someone or do something mean to that person, I would tell them to F**k off.. I have my own personality, and can decide for myself who I will like and dislike. Know what I mean?

Yes! I know it's immature and at 50 odd I should know better but it's human nature. Plus if someone tells you why they don't like someone it will stick in your mind. If I meet someone new and they don't like someone I will make up my own mind whatever they say.

No, I have two friends right now that hate each other and I manage to hang out with them both. Now, even though true friends aren't suppose to do this they both want me to stop talking to the other one.

Yeah. I think there is a term for that in sociology called a collective mind. I have been guilty of this many times.
