I'd ask his opinion about Oliver Twist today. Are children treated better today? Are they not also "asking for more!"
And Mr. Dickens why did you paint Fagin so dismally negative?

Charles Dickins was one of the greatest social reformers in history. He was able to let rich influencial families understand the plight of the lower class with characters they could relate with and a healthy dose of humour.

I'd ask, What social change today is he unhappy with and what group would he target to draw attention to it?

He died in 1870, and if I ever had a chance to talk to him I'd want to know why he chose to inflict his writing on generations of students to come.

Cheer up and learn to stop yourself. Every book doesnt need to be mind-numbingly long and depressing.
