Other than Yahoo photos that can be completely private, how do you put a lock on pics that you display locally on myspace so that no one can access them in any way?

You could probably do this with java script, but it's not really polite to disable functions in someone's browser without their permission.

You might find some tricks here http://www.w3schools.com/ .

simple. Put a copyright notice on it and if one day you find someone that is using your photo, threaten to sue.

you cant prevent others from downloading the photos. Those html scripts have issues, try using the right click button thats available on newer keyboards and these scripts will let you save the file.

Even if you make the site in flash, one can still decompile the flash file or just take a screen shot of what they want.

If you want to ensure ppl cant use it then just add a watermark over it with your website address. Hence if someone uses it, YOU GET FREE PUBLICITY!

You can't. Anything that is displayed on the screen can be captured by the person viewing.

There are rather ineffective deterrants...such as the java methods mentioned by a previous answerer...but I wouldn't bother as there are even more methods available to capture pics.

It all boils down to...whatever you decide to expose to the net, is now basically everywhere...permanently.

Ditto Louis942502: Photoshop offers a mechanism called Watermark whereby you may increase the inability to right-click an image for "copy/save as"
