As a professional in the music industry, I would say force yourself to write daily, at least 1 paragraph, or 8 bars daily. This will help work out talent better. Later, there will be no such thing as writers block for you. For now, write, and continue writing.

Are you familiar with the term 'libretto'? It means 'the words of an opera', but can be used to mean a lyrical theme. The concept itself can work as a lens or frame for abstract input. Other than that, start small, with a single word, and build without preconception, without knowing where you're going. Or, read a thesaurus. Or classical (or any) poetry; a single line, out of context, can take you on a tangent. Or do what Bowie did in the eighties; just write anything that comes into your mind onto strips of paper, put them in a hat or box and then pull them out in any order. Continuity and meaning then become the burden of the listener.
Hope that helps. But most of all; relax and see not the mountain, but rather the first step...

If you have writer's block, and then try to force yourself to write, it gets harder. My best advice is to forget about the goal of writing and sit down just to play with no pressure. Pick an instrument and just start playing. Eventually something will come out that will just click, and you'll give yourself ideas of how to move forward with the song you're stuck on.

Go somewhere you've never been before. Usually, the best place is some outdoors place where there are no people and then follow that up with a place full of people and just watch them. If this doesn't work, then listen to music or watch a movie that really inspires you. good luck :-)

The easy way that I have found is to take a sleeping pill and take a deep sleep and then when you wake up go and find the thing you sing about and try to find a new passion for it. Something that you have never written about before. Good Luck...Oh and if that doesn't work tell me what you have and I'll finish it for you (first ones free)

Just write some words on the subject you're trying to write about. It doesn't matter if it's good or right, you can (and will) change it later. Just get some words on paper. Write everything that comes in your head then erase what is not fitting . . .
