I presume the e: drive is a hard drive. If you right click on the e: drive and click open you should see a file called autoplay.inf. You might not see the .inf bit. This is what is causing the behaviour that you describe. If a drive has an autorun.inf file in its root (first) directory it will do what the autorun file tells it to do when you double click on the drive.
It is likely that at some point the contents of a CD have been copied to the e: drive and that is what started the problem. Deleting the autorun file would remove the problem.

you would be able to attempt it via going into the device supervisor, pick tension(CD-ROM menu) and click on the settings tab, then uncheck the Autoplay placing. you will no longer get autoplay. To termporarilly bypass Atoplay carry down the shift key, once you place a CD interior the tension.
