We took a 4 day trip by car. My husband takes 9 different medications. I have one of those weekly pill boxes. Instead of taking all the bottles , I took the box, as it is easier to fill them by the week as he takes them several times a day. I was told it is illegal to carry meds this way. I just thought it would be easier than carrying all the bottles and trying to remember when he needed to take his meds. If you do not carry the bottles, can you just make a copy of the scripts?

it is not illegal per say BUT
if you ever got pulled over and did not have the bottles you may be sitting in the clink while they police sorted out the pills

also you should always carry them with you
if anything ever happened to your hubby and you had to go to hospital you need to know what he takes
what dose and how often he takes them
it is much faster and easier to show them then for them to dig around trying to figure out what they are

hope this helps

To be on the safe side, carry the bottles and the pills in the bottles, that way they can more easily be verified by the pharmacy that issued them. As scripts can be easily forged, not a good idea to just carry a copy of the scripts and unknown meds in an unknown container, as the occupants will likely be arrested and detained until it is determined for certain what the meds in the container are and are they legal.

It is illegal to carry meds that way especially narcotics. Have your doctor write a note listing the meds you take and get a print out from the pharmacy. You could also but one of those little sock boxes from an office supply store, the cost about 10 bucks and put all the bottles in there.

To avoid any problems that may take a long time to resolve it's best to carry the bottles with you. I don't think copy of scripts would do anything but raise suspicions

It is not against the law to carry your medication in an unmarked pill bottle or case. If something comes up (like the police stop you and accuse you of having illicit drugs) it is simple enough to prove that these were prescribed, lawful medications. We live in America . . . not Russia or Japan.

Technically you need to have the pills in their own bottles. I wouldn't necessarily arrest or cite someone for using those weekly boxes though. But some guys arent that bright.
