I think it's a simple matter of exposure. If you have a child and it is exposed to a nanny or some other person more than you, that person will end up being more influential on your child.
Rosie and Borat are entertainers. People tend to like entertainers more than stuffy politicians, regardless of who the politician is. It's misplaced priorities. Even if you hate Bush, you should still consider him more influential in your life because of the power he wields.
I'd say it's more a matter of the people who SAY that these guys are more influential simply do not have the intellectual capacity to understand what the situation really is. And that's ok...they can continue to wrap themselves up in trivial entertainment and stay out of the political process for all I care. Let the people with a little better sense of priorities handle the hard stuff like paying attention to politics and governmental policies.

Yes, I believe so, Rosie gets so much attention because of her outrageous statements. Same with Borat. If Bush called Rosie a fat pig in a speech he would become more influential

Much as it saddens me, I have to disagree. Bush is way more influential whether I like it or not (and I don't). He influences stuff around the world on every level. Rosie has her influence, but she doesn't affect policy on a global scale. Borat is hysterical, but, at the end of the day, he is just a comedian.
