Would this be a fair statement considering all the "ranting excuses" used by these people to try and denigrate the newly crowned World Champions?

Well.... I suppose it really doesnt matter - WE WON - thats all that matters!! If they wanna b*tch rant/rave - i dont blame them - it cant be fun sucking on them sour grapes while our aussie team is being labeled - THE greatest cricket team EVER!! wooHOO!!

I too feel that some of the supportersof Sri Lanka have been coming out with lot of excuses instead of appreciating the factthat the team played better cricket won the world cup. Even Sri Lankan Captain, Mahela Jayawardene has acknowledged that Australia played better than Sri Lanka.

The Aussie team was unsportsmanlike not the Lankan supporters. I wonder why the Lankans did not use "gadgets" to win the world cup...

Unsportsmanlike is broad term. Aussie bashing is a sport on its own. Ask any rugby or cricket fan. Well done to them, they deserved the CWC, but it does not mean we have to like them.

sri lanka could have won under better circustances,
if it was a 50 over match
if the weather was better.
this was the only match in the world cup it wasnt 50 overs. they should have postponed it for the next day or a day the weather was good.
