There's no denying that she's a great singer and she seems like a nice girl, but I really hope she doesn't win Idol. The judges are always harping on about how it's a "singing competition" but there's more to it than that. Blake proved this week that he's got guts and is willing to take risks. That's something I want in an idol and I think that's the recipe for long-term success.

Well, she certainly doesn't suck! She's a phenomenal singer, but her sound is skewed a bit "old" if you ask me. I always feel like she's 40 years old or something...I want someone young and fresh!

I think Melinda's personality is genuine. I'm 25 and love Blake. not a teenybopper by any description. All of my "real world" friends who watch AI are my age and love Blake too!

Well if it WERE a singing competition then Blake would not win. Melinda is a great singer. She's soulful, not old. And everyone in America is not a teeny bopper. Though Blake is exciting and a great performer. The one thing I hate is to hear people (mostly white) say that Melinda and her shy personality is fake. People say that I am the same way--shy and reserved. I know alot of people that way. If she were a white female and nice and soft spoken that is natural. But black women are stereotyped as being loud, boisterous, and over confident. So...seeing Melinda seems unnatural to you. Or.......fake. I believe she is much like the personality of performers like Janet Jackson for instance who whispers in interviews and is quiet but a loud sex kitten on stage. The stage releases their inhabitions. Melinda is like that. Plus with so many people making fun of her looks i.e. her neck, she probably has low self esteem and has preferred being a backup singer. I wish all of our parents would have raised us better and not to be so shallow and prejudiced. She's quiet and has a short neck but she sings amazingly well. Better than those whiny white boys on there. I hope her and Jordin battle it out because then the votes could go either way.

I agree with you to a point. Melinda too had put it all out there as well. She is a firecracker. Iam also a fan of Blake and I do see him and Melinda coming in as the top two. Who wins from there is anyones guess.

Melinda and Lakisha both sang backup so of course they are very good singers.
I love Blake and Jordin and it will be a tight race but I hope Jordin wins.

Hey there, I totally agree, I just hate her fake personality. Yeah right she is so totally shy...WHATEVER. And personally, I don't think she is all that great. I do like Blake, but don't hate me, I think Jordin is much better, and can spread to a wider audience base than Blake could. I would definately buy one of her albums over Blakes. I think it is going to be Blake and Jordin in the final 2...at least I hope. I was so glad Phil got voted off last night. =) LaKeshia is going home next week.

Blake is funky and he takes risks however melinda has proved that she's quite versatile.she can sing rock and just about anything she wants to.i think whoever wins-blake,melinda or jordin they deserve it.but the winner of AI is not the one who makes decisions for the album so its not necessarily a bad thing if blake doesn't win.

Melinda is extraordinary, but she's not American Idol material. She should NOT even be on the show. She's way too polished.

Melinda should WIN. Blake SUCKS! He sings in a monotone with that pained look in his face. And he absolutely destroyed Bon Jovi's song. Hated it. Hated him.
