Not really a question but I am sick of Patriots fans thinking Randy Moss is the greatest off season move in history. This is a league of, "what have you done for me lately." Which is why the Raiders kicked him out of Oakland....he's not that good!

You are an idiot. Moss has record-breaking stats when playing for an above-average franchise; then he went to one of the most laughably worst teams I've ever seen. The 2004-2006 Raiders couldn't beat any of those "historic" Buccaneer teams.
I think it's hilarious how people gauge a players' worth by their attitude and personality while ignoring their skill and talent. While Moss has been a distraction to the team he has played for in the last 3-ish years (that last year in Minny was overblown), his attitude has clearly changed. He wants a ring, and he's gonna bow down be Bilicheck's little b%&$.
The Raiders "kicked him out," because he was unwilling to restructure his 2 year/$20 million contract, he was reportedly only willing to do that for the Patriots and, maybe, the Packers.
Now he's getting paid 1 year/$3 million. He took a 66% paycut...that seems like an attutide shift. His press conference sounded like an attitude shift. He'll see how he comes into training camp.
What makes it such a great offseason move (and I'm not a Pats fan; I'm from pathetic Viking territory) is the amount of talent (and still HoFer if he puts up his average stats for only 2 or 3 more years) for a 4th rounder, and $3 million. Plus, in OAK they had no one else to split the D-back coverage.
Even if the Pats don't sign Brown, they still have one hell of a WR corps, and Randy has never played for a better QB, a better coach, or a better organization in his career. Regardless of your personal bias toward Randy Moss, this is an excellent move -- even if he sits on the bench for 16 games.

This is not a situation where one person is going to turn the franchise around as someone mentioned. This is simply adding a piece to an already nearly complete puzzle. Tom Brady was able to do a lot with minimal at WR.

I cannot stand the attitude of Randy Moss, but there is no denying his ability when he tries. Brady may not be a downfield passer all the time by nature, but that didn't stop him from connecting deep with Deion Branch on more than one occassion. Moss will be that deep threat to compliment Stallworth, Welker, and crew.

Look for a Patriot 2008 Super Bowl game. They have the defense (With the addition of LB Thomas and S Meriweather for depth), the offense, and a good kicker. I think they'll go 13-3+ as well like someone else mentioned.

I couldn't agree with you more. Moss has a big mouth and an even bigger ego. I think he will be a problem for the Patriots and not a great contributor. They got him cheap, which is probably what he was worth. The Patriots are a Super Bowl contender with or without Moss. I'm sorry but the attitude Moss has displayed at Minnesota and Oakland will likely resurface in New England.

Well he has put up numbers that only a few other receivers in NFL history have done so I would say is one of the best all time. Much better than mediocre. If you didn't notice, nobody put up good offensive numbers in Oakland while he was there. I'd imagine if he was there the year the Raiders went to the Super Bowl he probably would have had 100+ catches and 1500+ yards. If he is healthy he should put up 1200+ yards at New England. He is at least the best WR picked up this off season. Darrell Jackson is tough but he won't have the same success he had in Seattle.

No, actually Thomas was the greatest move we made this year in my opinion. What made this the most popular move in the news media, is because we got him for a fourth round pick! RANDY MOSS, a 4th round pick. I don't care if he is an idiot, it does not take away from his ability. He is only 30 and he has had the likes of Aaron Brooks and some other suckass QB throwing to him for the last two years. Wait until a real QB like Brady throws to him. I am enjoying all the jealousy and nervousness around the nation for my Pat's team. Moss is not the savior, but he is a GREAT piece of the pie baby! I say Stallworth is going to have a better year with Moss taking the double teams. You might not think he is a good ballplayer, but don't tell me defensive coordinators around the league aren't stressing about defending the likes of Stallworth, Welker, Moss, Watson, Faulk, and Maroney. THAT is what is going ot make us a great team. Not just Moss. Sorry we spoiled your offseason kids. :)

Let's see, the Patriots were a "bobbled interception miraculously recovered by Marvin Harrison" away from moving on and stomping the Bears in the Super Bowl with the weakest receiver corps in the league and now they replace Jabbar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell with Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth? I think that makes a Super Bowl Champion. I am certain of it.

It's more than the Patriots. Every time a team picks up a free agent or drafts a high profile player everyone starts talking how this one player automatically makes the team a contender. It's funny when a team will over pay an average player and everyone talks like this player's ability is above average or great. It's stupid. Time will tell with Randy Moss, personally I think he'll be average like you say. Brady is not a deep passer and if Moss get's frustrated it could have a negative affect.

Well Randy Moss only "plays" when his team is winning, you noticed how he really didnt play hard at Oakland and the last few games at Minnesota. But he is on a winning team know and will play; Bill Bilechick said that if Moss pulls that **** that he will sit him. I am not saying that the Patriots will win the Super Bowl, but Randy Moss will definitly now hurt the team any.

In history? Hell no. This year? Yes, Randy Moss can be an exceptional player IF he wants to be, if he keeps out of trouble (which the Patriots have shown they can do for people like that, corey dillon, etc.) Tom Brady has some legitimate weapons now, and it's going to be nasty, expect another 13-3+ season and a good playoff run, without a doubt.

If you look at the NFL Channel, it is reported that the Pats have 7 top receivers that they cannot keep. The coaching staff is giving Brady "choices". If Randy Moss is mediocre as you say, he will be cut. The Pats are famous for not catering to a big names and egos, like Dallas with Owens. Moss is going to have to win a position or get embarrased. Check it out.
