I used to tell my kids to play in the street. It taught them how to be cautious. So what's the problem?

There's not one. That was very educational of you.
I am building a velcro wall and some fleece jumpsuits for mine. It'll be nice to finally have a place to throw them out of the way to.

no. i dosen't. When people hear street, they automatically think I busy street with cars zipping by. My kids play in the street because well, there's nobody down our road and those that do come down know they play there. And my kids know to watch out for traffic and such. Some kids have nowhere to play outside but the street, and I feel sorry for them.

i think thats a good thing...its better that they know how to be cautious in the street then have them wander in the street and not know what to do and how to watch for cars.

I don't see a problem, I played on the streets too and my mother was in the kitchen cooking. Well, she would peek all the time to see, who's car we smashed with our ball.....:-)

It certainly makes them aware of their surrounding, how to time things, knowing where the danger spots are.

When mine got older, especially the smart-mouthed middle one, he'd ask if he could go out, like to a party, and I'd say sure, as long as there were drugs and sex there. And people to beat up. And If he wanted to borrow my car, I'd say sure, as long as he ran every drop of gas out of it. He knew I was kidding.
