I did not mean chickens in the house as an insult as much as the fact that we are getting the lowest of the low from some countries. people that do not have an education, no class, morals or standards. thier own country runs programs to HELP these people evacuate from thier own countries. its a plot to screw us up. just like castro did back in the day. sigh.
again..wake up!!!!!!!!!!!

It is annoying, I'll agree. I have to point out though, that we don't have an official language in this country. When the English came here, they sort of forced the native Americans to learn/speak our language, but I don't think it was ever officialized (is that a word? LOL). It would be nice though. I also really dislike seeing ingredients/instructions on just about every package of EVERYTHING (food, cleaning products, etc.) I buy in English, Spanish, French and recently they had it in some Asian language. This was a product made in the US!!
What I'm dreading is "push 1 for English, 2 for Arabic, 3 for French..." When does it stop?

What are you asking? What are you fed up with?
Please understand that America is composed of a population represented by almost every other culture that exists. However, if the people of america expect to be able to compete for the best jobs, they will have to be able to use the "American" language with some skill. The same principle applies to americans who wish to compete in other industrial countries. Ya gotta be able to communicate. There are a lot of natural americans who have very poor communication skills.

I agree, if you desire to move to another country it is your responsibility to learn the language. It is not up to the people in the other country to change their whole lifestyle and culture to make it easier and to become enablers for Latinos. Other immigrants that move here from non Latino countries learn the language and do not expect special consideration.
I am beginning to get tired of all of the American political correctness also but hey I'm not worried about trying to be cool.

What bothers me are people who have lived in this country 10 years, 20, years, 30 years, and still do not understand English. In fact, they sound like they just came off the boat.
Then they look at you as if YOU are the stupid one.

no,I think if ppl come to America, the push should be on them to assimilate and learn english. The "chickens in your house" comment reeks of racism tho. I am not against mexicans,I just think that if they want the benefits of this country,it would start with them learning the language

my great grandparents came from Norway in the 1860s and learned English right away. my grandparents spoke Norwegian, but my mother doesn't at all, except for a few phrases. if you move to another country, you need to learn that language. don't lose your culture or heritage, but learn the native language.
