what are the reasons why parents do not pay child support.?

i know my ex didnt pay it to get back at me. it would have been ok of he helped the kids financially but he never did. he left a government job of 25 years so he didnt have income to pay child support. its usually to get back at the wife in spite of the kids.

there are so many reasons people don't pay their support some are reasonable some are just BS but the thing to remember is the kids didn't ask for their parents to divorce or fight over money and they don't ever understand it.i am one of the lucky ones my ex husband supports his kids visits often and when hes here gives his sons money and buys them things they want hes remarried and i am in a relationship as well we all just make it work and trust me if this family can make it work anyone can i just wish when parents think about child support they would remember that the kids need and deserve to be taken care of,what happened between the adults was not the fault of the kids and they should not have to pay the price for it.

I am a female who is ordered to pay child support to my ex who has custody of my four year old. I love her dearly and see her as much as the courts allow. However, when my husband and I got pregnant I became very ill and had to stop working. I have not paid child support in 6 months, but its not because I dont want to its just because I have not had it. When she is with me, I give her the best that I can afford, which may actually be why I never have enough money for the child support. My husband and I spend alot of money on her. Anyway, I started working again and I will be sending it again asap. So sometimes it may not be bc the parent doesnt want to it may just be because they can't.

Could be any number of reasons. Many times, the noncustodial parent thinks the support is for the benefit of the ex-spouse instead of the children. Could also be things like job loss or demotion, and the non-custodial parent didn't go to court to get the support reduced according to the changed circumstances. Sometimes it's just because the non-custodial parent is a jerk and wants to keep all his or her income and isn't thinking about the consequences to the kids and the custodial parent.

They didn't want to be parents in the first place. I am so lucky to be a woman. I can never accidentally have a child!

I think men should be given the option of opting out of fatherhood. To be able to have a sort of figurative abortion, but only before the child is born. This way, if the woman still chooses to have a child, she has chosen to go down the path of single motherhood. It'll probably benefit women too in that it will weed out the men who are just staying because they think they have no other option and will eventually leave. Women will better know what they're getting themselves into.

I have been on both ends of this, my son's father doesn't pay his child support, but I don't really care, I was the only one that could have kept myself from getting pregnant. I have supported my son for 12 years without his father's help. Then on the other end, My husband of 7 years is ordered to pay support and he pays regularly, it is garnished from his wages, but when he is not working, he is unable to pay, but she gets our taxes. We see the children once a year and they have nasty clothes, torn, too small, no shoes, but her other child has brand name things, cool gadgets, you know. She won't even use the kids money to help get them to see their dad ONE time per year. We have two children of our own as well and she has 3 children with different fathers and is trying for another one with a different man. so there are many different factors as to why someone wouldn't pay.

Because they think when their ex remarries that they should not have to support their kids anymore. It is out of spite of the custodial parent regardless of how their children suffer. Also, they know the custodial parent is the superior parent and can take care of the kids regardless of a lack of support. Dead beat parents are scum and should not be allowed to breed.

Thats funny my fiance name is shaun and he needs to pay child support. One reason could be that the woman spend it all and not on the child. for instance he pays $100.00 a week and she has a nerve to call him and say that his daughter needs clothes. well she can't have he cake and eat it to He used to give her anything she needed before child support but then she did this. Or you know the peron can loose their job and get behind in bills that makes it hard for them even to support themselves.

my father's reasoning for not paying child support on me and my two younger brothers was that my mother was drinking it and putting it all up her nose.
His reason for not paying my stepmother for my half brother was that he didn't want my brother, and she had a good enough job that she could be the sole supporter.
Why do I think parents don't pay child support? Cause they are scum.
