Mollies can be a bit territorial. Also, could it be a male molly chasing a female platy? That would be normal.

Generally this just works, but sometimes the male molly will get a bit aggressive. Try to keep at least 2 female molly per male. Also keep in mind the chasing will likely stop in a day or so.

I keep mollys, plattys sawtails and guppys, well most live bearers, The molly is a placide fish the only reason that it could be 'chasing' a platty is if the molly is male and platty female as plattys are very loose fish and tend unlike other fish, bread with what ever wants them. Also it could be if you have just put your platty in the tank it might be in the mollys teritory and the molly just showing it the other side of the tank, if in this case it will stop it only goes on for day or 2 that all.

yes they will get along with each other. I have platys and mollies all together in a 60 gallon planted tank. They all seem to be doing very well with each other for years now.

My mollies are mean too? They told me my semi aggressive tropical tank would be too much for the mollies. Shoot Im ready to put the mollies in with the african cichlids.
