Without a doubt, Fiona Walker. She writes British humor novels usually set in the country side. Her style of writing is fresh and modern. She is quite descriptive and once you're hooked, you're as good as gone :-)
Also, one thing I really enjoy about her books is that although main plot of the book surround a specific set of characters, their lives are somehow interlinked with characters of her earlier novels and you are able to get a glimpse of "life after their story" so to speak.

James Patterson is my all time favorite! Both his CROSS series and his 1st to Die (Numbered) series are great! A close second in John Sandford. His PREY series is fantastic! Both of them are Suspense/Thriller authors. As far as other genres, I absolutely love Christopher Moore's humor and satire. Moore's LAMB is a MUST READ for all readers who love satire!!! It's the tale of Jesus from age 8 thru adulthood (the part that was left out of the bible) as told by his best friend Biff. It is the funniest and most entertaining book I've ever read! Please read it, EVERYONE!!

Larry McMurtry. I love Lonesome Dove and re-read it every year - and I don't normally like westerns! He's written a lot of other great books too!
I also like Jodi Picoult, John Sandford and James Lee Burke
