My husband & I got our computers from the same man as his fathers real estate company. This company includes my husbands father, mother,&his mothers best friend who is a whiz on the computer. Our computer is not networked with theirs but we have all the same programs. When we have virus updates or things we have to do manually we get the same info from the computer man But in a way it seems that our computer is still tied to them. (Ex. sometimes when filling in my personal info & I double click to automatically pull my name up, his sisters name , who sometimes works there and others, will show up along with mine. She has never been on my computer & I dont think has even ever seen my computer. His family also say things to us which make us even more suspicious. Like maybe out of the blue mentioning websites we have recently visited. They can be a bit nosy but please tell me that it is not possible for our computers to still be tied together & they are invading our privacy in this way.

we got our computer brand new or at least i thought we did. my husband said the man builds them or something. i dont know. anyway everything we have is done from a disk that this man gives to them and then they give to us and then back again. the more i keep telling you the more i feel this is really happening. can we completely start over with something else ? if i need to send this to computers on this i will just not real sure how.

It is definitely possible. Or it could be residual from being an office computer. You could do a reboot of your system. You should have gotten the disk to do that with your computer. That would take everything back to the factory setting and clean it out, but when you do that, you erase EVERYTHING. If you have any info or pictures on it, you will lose all of that too, so be sure you have backup disks made before you do that. You will also need the password from you windows operations to get restarted (whatever version you have), so make sure you have that before you do it too. Make sure you have all the extra program disk installed too, because they will need to be reinstalled. But if they have a program loaded onto your computer linking it to theirs, it would be erased as well and then they couldn't spy on you anymore. I've had to do this a couple of times and it takes a few hours to do it and reload everything. I had different issues though. (viruses)
You can always call the Geek Squad. They are in most Best Buy stores now. It will cost you, but they can do what needs to be done to make you feel at ease.

I'm not sure why you would have to update anything from a disk. Most of your security updates can be done online. Well actully all of your secuity updates should be able to be done online. Something definately sounds fishy. But I'm not an expert.
If you want to post in the computer section just ask your question again and when it picks the category, if it picks the wrong one for you again, highlight it and go to view all categories and scroll through until you find the technology section, then highlight the one that fits your question the best and post your question again.
If you have the word computer in your question it will more than likely take you to the right section. The way you worded it this time made it seem like more of a relationship problem than a computer one.
Good Luck.

Im not sure how this would be done but I do think it can be done, the names coming up may be programmed in if this computer was used in the office and the memory hasnt been cleared..Can you bring anything up on the computer about them, like personal details and such? If you dont feel safe about it get an expert that doesn work with them to check it out, then you will know for sure and also have peace of mind the mentioning of web sites may just be coincidental, but I can see why your suspicious.. Get a professional to check it out good luck

You need to get a pro to take a look at it. They probably did install a program to spy on you!
