In Australia there is a song used to promote a new model of a motor vehicle. The song probably goes back to the 70's and begins with "Where have you been my blue eyed son, where have you been my darlin' young one...."

That current version isn't performed by the original singer - so my request is who was the original, and who is the one that does the TV version. Additionally, was the title the same as I have referred to above - or a different title...?

"A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall" is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1962 in Chip Monck's apartment in the basement of the Village Gate (now The Village Theater) on the corner of Bleecker and Thompson Streets in Greenwich Village.

In 2006 Dylan drew criticism for allowing a hard rock cover version of the song to be featured in a television commercial advertising an SUV with the slogan 'Get hard'.

"A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall". Album of the same name. Look up Bob Dylan (and Peter Gabriel?). Check with Mitsubishi Motors. They used a version in a commercial for the "L200" series Van.

The song is titled "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall".
And the original is by Bob Dylan, who also wrote it.
I don't know who sings it on the commercial though.
