He wants a slave and not a wife. My dad always did that to my mom.

It is a tradition handed down from the days when women stayed home with the kids and the men worked the fields. In today's environment, it serves to belittle women.

Tell him to fix your plate. Then walk away and sit down, if he tries to make a big deal out of it, just give him the line he gives you. Hopefully he'll get the point.

Your generalization is not fair. They don't, always. Not only does my fiance fix his own plate, he sometimes makes dinner, too. He also does laundry. We share the chores & don't complain about it.

Not this women! We went to a BBQ and my MAN fixed me a plate (mainly because I was doing the BBQ grill) I tell you, he fixed me the BEST fajita I have ever had...I tried to make another one later, but it just wasn`t as good as his. So from now on, I am going to ask him! LOL!

I think its an unwritten law. How about you guys alternate when you go out? When he asks, respond with a question"Can you wash the dishes, throw out the garbage, run the shower for me? Keep thinking of questions requesting him to return the favor maybe he'll get the point.

because women are not people like us. (-:

i dont think it has anything to do with the "old days", this thing happen everywhere in the world for thousands of years. there is a reason for that.

you may be annoyed to see this but, stop complain about feminism stuff, women cant do everything and same for men.

women and men can never be equal !!! its the way of nature.

you know what i hate most ? when feminists say god is a she, god is not a she or he, god is an abstract (- is that the word?) being.

well you CAN ask him to make food for himself, but think about it, do you really want him get food poisoning.

I wish my husband would allow me to do that but he won't. He said it makes him uncomfortable. My family when I grew up always did this. My Mom still does this for my Dad, at home and in restaurants, etc. I do help my husband's plate at home when I cook though. I forgot about that. While growing up the woman in my family didn't eat until the men got finished. My parents are in their 70s. Your husband is kind of old fashioned.

I finally decided that he could fix his own plate. If he doesn't come into the kitchen and fix his own plate, he won't eat.

i don't !! My husband knows if he wants to eat he better get it I would make an exception if one or both of his legs were broken or if he was unable but I am not going to baby a perfectly capable man. We treat each other with respect and all but we take care of ourselves and are not a burden to each other

I agree with another poster - ask him to fix your plate and refuse to do anything until he does. My hubby always serves me.
