Take it to the vet or a wildlife shelter, and then try feeding it with watever they tell you. Even at a pet shop they will be able to tell you how to feed it and what he should eat at that age. Good luck. Check if his mother is anywhere around there. Chances are she lost the poor fellow or she was hunted down, and now the little one is looking for food. Don't have it put down, try to save it please! I can tell you have a good heart!

If this is a wild cottontail bunny, then leave it alone, or call a wildlife rehab group. See this section for info on wildlife:
http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html#baby
If you think this is a domestic rabbit that someone has set free, then it needs help because they will not live long in the wild. Check this list to see if there is a rabbit rescue group near you that can help:
http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabresc.html
If not, you can set out food, like greens or lettuce and see if the bunny will come. Get a hav-a-heart trap and see if you can entice the bunny to come in, or use a dog exercise pen. If you can confine the rabbit, please take it to a vet for a check up.
I'm sending you links in case you do catch the rabbit and will have to take care of it for a while.

Don't just leave it there. It's cruel to let the poor thing suffer.
The poor baby sounds sick and is most likely abandoned. Mother animals frequently abandoned their sick and week offspring to save their energy for the strong healthy ones.
Take baby to the vet. If the vet thinks it has a chance, get medicine and formula and raise it to be a pet. If you don't want to or can't raise it, a wildlife rescue might take it from you.
If neither option works for you, please have it put to sleep humanly.

If it is really ill the most humane thing you can do is take it to the vet to have it euthanized. It is very difficult to take care of a wild rabbit, and in many states it is illegal. You can call your local wildlife rehabilitation place, but most likely they will put it down.
I'm sorry

I would just leave it alone. The mother is around somewhere and she will take care of it.
