Listening to our pastor Sunday, I got to thinking . This man was explaining how wrong it is to hate our President regardless of anyone's personal political ideology . And I wondered. . .Are any of these people 'Haters of our President' ? And are they listening . Well I can't just walk-up to them and ask if they hate our President , you just don't do that in church . But here I can ask .

He also spoke about how Love, Understanding, Support , and Prayer can help our leaders .
So, how many of you have a pastor who promotes Love and Prayer for our leaders ? How about Understanding ?

THIS has been a real EYE-OPENER - I asked if your pastor does the same as mine for a reason . To bring to your attention how wrong Hatred is . Yet I got so many answers that were not willing to let go of their hatred !!!

I wonder if you'll make the same arguments when facing God !!

My Pastor does, and I do as well. For me it is an easy thing, I love our President, and believe he's God's choice for America for this period of time. I know he Prays daily, and studies his Bible, asking for Divine Wisdom. I Pray for him every day.

Will I do the same if a Communist gets in ? I learned with Clinton. I refused to Pray for him. I Sinned. I will Pray for the next President, weather I Voted for him or not.
Be Blessed in Christ Jesus !

Disagreeing with the presidents policies, even hating some of his policies is not the same thing as hating the president. It's a shame that so many Bush supporters don't seem to be able to get beyond viewing the world in such black and white terms.

I won't support a policy that I believe is fundamentally dangerous for our country. If you or your pastor want to say that I hate the president then I can't stop you, but that doesn't make either one of you right.

I trust that he was preaching that when Clinton was president. Regardless, although I don’t approve of preaching politics in church perhaps he should consider that supporting a president who starts unnecessary wars is against Christ’s teachings. Blessed are the peacemakers.

I try not to hate anyone but I will criticize Bush’s horrible policies. Christ taught that we should love our enemies. It’s certainly not easy.

Edit:
You’re correct in stating that I didn’t exactly and directly answer your question because I think your question is rather strange.

Your question assumes that a given minister would feel the need to admonish members of the congregation for hating their country. I don’t see why any minister would have to do that since Americans, with extremely rare exceptions, don’t hate their country.

Your question starts off with remarks about hating one’s country and then talks about the president. The two concepts are not the same. Bush and the country are two separate entities. My minister does not support Bush’s policies but he advises us to love others and to be tolerant.

Is your pastor Ted Haggard, Reverend Sharpton or Jackson? If they would do less talking and more showing, I might believe them, but when institutions like the catholic church support illegals above citizens, I have a hard time with what they preach. Did your pastor also give a sermon to not hate Clinton? Or does it only apply to republicans. I don't hate my President, I just don't support his policies, just like republicans didn't support Clinton. The truth is the truth.

I am just pleased as punch that your pastor is so full of love and sunshine. However, we have a president that is totally corrupt in office and soldiers are dying daily for his ego. If I wanted understanding of Bush, I would join a support group and rationalize and justify his actions like most of the Republicans do. Blowing sunshine up someone's butt does not make a wrong right or something that is unaccepable to be acceptable. We can talk peace and love all you like but right now people are dying. It needs to be stopped. It has gone on way too long and the country is suffering for it. If you had a pig in your living room, trying to understand it and love it is not going to make it less of a swine in your house. Bush should be tried for war crimes by a world court. He has caused a river of blood to run thru Iraq. He needs impeachment first and all the love and understanding after when he is not in a position to destroy this country. Sorry to not be Sally Sunshine here with all your love and understanding and support but I am sick to death of people dying for the ego of a morally bankrupt coward.

The last time I went to church, and it was a fundamentalist church, Libs, the pastor spoke on hate. It wasn't about the President. He spoke on the hate of Christians. The people we think it is okay to hate.

He included homosexuals.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having standards of acceptable behavior. And we do. But hating people is wrong. Period.

Maybe that pastor should have a talk with many of you conservatives regarding your hatred of liberals.

Remember to take that plank out of your own eye before going on that high horse.

God will judge us on our actions, not on our views of the President's mistakes.
