I've found the very best way to remove residual wax from glass, is to put the glass container in your freezer. It has always worked for me and I've even put my Waterford crystal with wax in it and it's never been damaged. Just be careful, when popping the wax out.

Hello,
There are two ways: hot water or freezing them.
With the hot water method, just put the glass in very hot water for a while and the wax block should just come out (depending on how think the wax is)
Alternatively you can put the glass in the freezer and then once it is frozen just chip the wax off - it should be really brittle and there should be no damage to the that glass.

I would get a candle warmer ($4.95 @ Wal-Mart) & heat the jar. This will melt all of the wax around the glass & then you sould be able to pour it right out & immediately wipe clean with a paper towel. It may take a couple of hours to heat the whole jar so that the sides get hot & the wax melts off but it'll work!

Fill them woth very hot water - place a t-spoon in the container before you add the water to stop it the glass cracking. The wax will melt and settle on the top of the water. Remove it and discard the water, then wash the glass in hot soapy water, using a gentle nylon scouring sponge.

get a pot of boiling water *a pot you don't mind getting dirty*
and find a way to hold on to the container and submerse it in the water it should melt the candle wax residue and dry it with a cloth towel right away to be sure you get all of the wax out.. but yes the old wax and residue will now be in your pan.. but if you burn alot of candles it might be worth it to have a pan to use later

Try putting it in the freezer until the wax is really hard. Then it should be easy for you to carefully chip the wax off.

We put ours in the freezer and then pop the wax off after it is frozen. The hot soapy water trick will also work. good luck

Hi I am a haggis basher aswell, put your containers in the freezer for 24hrs and the wax comes out easily. I have done this with my edinburgh crystal with no damage to it, also ceramics, and antique bowls. good luck.
