the advice given by one person was, that if you do not want to get pregnant then do not have sex, haha this bothers me, because , are we only allowed to procreate in the name of fertility, thats total nonsense and a stupid answer if you ask me, if we were all to have sex with the aim of falling pregnant then weres the bloody fun in that then ? these anti abortionists realy annoy me , especialy when they come out with such invalid/stupid answers. so are we no longer allowed to indulge in some sexual fun unless our aim is to impregnate ?

ok this is for all the crazys, i did not mention contraception, casual sex or any of these things, some women fall pregnant whilst using contraception every single day, yes some women do not use it, this is irelevant to my question which was asking if we are not allowed to enjoy sex purely for fun, i do not need the moral highground thrust upon me i have my values and morals thankyou, yahoo answers is not my bible merely my entertainment, and that particular response which inspired my question made me laugh thats all.

ok hoff mom, fertility actualy relates to a womans ability to concieve therefore they are not the same thing, why dont you look it up, rather than lecture me.
abortion is a womans choice, we do not all want 20 kids and sometimes accidents or even sexual attacks happen , what then ? freedom of choice is something we are all entitled to in this day and age and giving out comments like do not have sex is just stupid and ignorant, perhaps it would be better too direct a young person towards health care/sexual health clinics for advice on contraception and std prevention rather than shouting out do not have sex.ignorance is to blame for high levels of terminations more than anything.

I totally agree with you. I think that if our life's were so black+white, it would be so easy. But never judge unless you've been in someones shoes.
Fortunately, I never have had to make that decision. I don't think I could go through with it. But I would never judge anyone who considers an abortion.
If Doctors all went went back about 45 yrs, we would have a lot of back street clinics, putting women's lives at risk.

"Procreating" IS "fertility." Look it up. Procreation means conception.
I am against abortion. That is because I am an adult who accepts responsibility for my actions. I understand that since I am sexually active, I run a risk of conceiving any and every time I jump in the sack with my husband. In fact, I have recently conceived while using contraceptive. Having another child right now is not the most convenient thing that could happen in our family; we are struggling financially. But that's not the baby's fault. NO. I DO NOT HAVE SEX SIMPLY FOR PROCREATION. I have sex for the same reasons as everyone else. As such, I am responsible for any children my having sex, procreational, recreational, or otherwise, may produce.
If you can't deal with the possible consequences of sex (without making someone innocent pay), you shouldn't have sex. If you have sex, you should always use protection with the understanding that it might not work, and if (as in my case) it doesn't work, you should take responsibility for your actions and not make the innocent child you've created a victim. There are PLENTY of people out there who wait YEARS for a baby to adopt because of selfish women who want what they want regardless of the consequences to their children.
Pretty freakin' selfish to kill a baby produced from an hour of fun for you, just because it's not convenient.

I am not here to judge anyone, however if people want to be sexually active than hopefully they are responsible enough to use the proper birth control if they dont want to be pregnant. I will say that having an abortion just because a person was irresponsible is unjustified in my opinion. Abortion is a very serious thing, and only should be considered as last resort.

I think they are just trying to say be aware that pregnancy could happen (so can STD's including life threatening like Aids). It's ignorant to not realize sexual activity can lead to pregnancy there are some people who just do not think about what they would do if they got pregnant because they are so sure they won't or don't have accurate information on the failure rate of birth control. There are consequences to every action and people need to take that into consideration.

I think some people are too quick to judge - deep down most of us would be horrified if we saw footage of abortions taking place BUT we live in a country where we have freedom of choice and if any woman wishes to have an abortion then that is her choice and she should be allowed to make it without people judging or criticising her.
Most women have to feel guilt or whatever for the rest of their lives and most do not take the decision lightly. I am with you with regards to some of the comments people make and the stupid statements they come out with.
Women do get pregnant when they don't want to and people say they should have done this and done that but hey hindsight is a wonderful thing and there were 2 people involved but it is always the woman who suffers the most.

Well if you believe what God teaches in the Bible then yes you should not have sex unless you are married. Even married people protect themselves they are not wanting to have a baby at that time. Getting drunk and having sex with no protection is just irresponsible and people should be responsible when having sex. If they don't want to have a child, don't want to get an STD and don't want to use birthcontrol then don't do it. I don't care how fun it is.

Wonderfully put. I think what it all boils down to is if you are against abortion, don't have one. If you find yourself pregnant and didn't want to be, no one has the right to tell you what's right for you.
Here in Florida, a Republican politician who was so anti-abortion, was later found to be soliciting young boys for sex. So see...they do believe in sex for fun! lol. They just lie lie lie about it and do far worse things. They want you to have babies so in a few years they can start to prey on them.
You do the weighing on the morality scale.
Note to Samantha-How very sad and unfortunate you had to go through that. But keep in mind abortion is not a personal attack on you.

I can see your point, but abortion should be a last resort. In this day and age of many varieties of contraception, there is no excuse to use it as thus.
HOWEVER I am pro choice. Any reasonable adult knows no one contraceptive method is infallible, and there have been heart rending decisions made on medical grounds.
I do not believe anyone has the right to judge someone else over a very private and personal decision to make.

Everyone will have different opinions on this but I think if people don't want to create babies and have sex they should use precautions.
I don't understand that with all the std's and AIDS people aren't having safe sex anyway.
Common sense is the word here!!
