I've seen it on the back of lots of cars, but I can't find it by Googling it. I don't know what kind of tree it is, it is usually tall and the top part of the tree is more like a round bush than a normal tree. The quarter moon looks like a backwards "C"

RE:
I've seen this sticker - a tree with a quarter moon high to the left of the tree. Is it a religious symbol?

That sounds like the state flag of South Carolina - The Palmetto State.

The crescent moon and the palmetto tree are on the flag to commemorate the Revolutionary War - the crescent moon represents Continental Army fighters from South Carolina and the palmetto tree represents a victory at Fort Sullivan where colonial forces resisted a British naval bombardment in order to prevent them from entering the harbor to besiege Charleston (the fort was made of palmetto trees and did very well at absorbing the cannon balls).

South Carolina state symbol, I believe. I've seen it occasionally, too - I believe that the tree is a palm or a palmetto.

I've heard this joke before, but it was told as a blonde joke. It's still funny, though!
