I'll stay here now.

I've contemplated various times in history, and some of them seem exciting and romantic. But I'm not a really lucky person. If I lived in medieval England, I would have been the person who got to muck the horse's stalls or empty the pots. Or I would have been in debtor's prison. And knights? Second sons and landless. And don't forget arranged marriages. Or no marriage if you didn't have any land. And I'd probably be on my death bed, at the age of 40.

Present - Best health care and information ever. Freedom to do as we want, go wherever we want.

San Antonio, Texas, USA - I live in a FREE country. I actually get the freedom TODAY to choose where to live. And I do. Note for all those who say "I'd like to live elsewhere" DO IT!! Gypsy, you are free to live in Canada. There are no walls keeping you here - isn't that great?

Government - USA - We still have the greatest government the world has EVER known. Do you know why voter turnout is so low? Because we are free - everybody knows that with the great checks and balances built into our system no matter who gets elected, NOBODY will get dragged out to the street and executed. America is the greatest country in the world, with the greatest government - why do you think everyone is pushing each other out of the way to get here? AND even those complaining about it refuse to leave....

HERE and NOW - it's the best.

Kitty, I did grow up in the 60's and you're correct---it was the best! I wouldn't trade "my" decade for any other.
As for now, I'd like to remain in the present but not here in the US...we have too many issues. My preference would be Ontario, Canada: it's much like my home state of Michigan, only with fewer murders, calmer people and no ghettos. (And a government that minds its own business.)
I adore Canada and visit there frequently.
Having visited Ireland twice, that country is my second choice. It's expensive but has both beauty and wonderful people.

I have in the past given this serious thought and sometimes feel as if I had actually done so.

My preference would to have been born in the early 1750's in North Carolina. It would have been a great time for a patriot.

Were you aware that colonial AMericans developed the methodology that is today called guerrilla warfare, it worked very effectively.

Too many to choose from... ancient Rome, England in the 18th century, Italy during the rennaissance, I'd love to have been one of the American pioneers moving west, I'd have loved to been in New Orleans during the height of the jazz era... Ok, I'm a romantic at heart, I guess.
