No, but I don't think is is sensire most of the time. A lot of flattery is to make the flatterer look magnanimous in front of his or her peers or to get you to do something you might not otherwise do. I don't need that type of deception in my life. An honest thank you or a straightforward compliment does me fine. People can save the sugar coating for their cereal.

Yeah, I'm uncomfortable with flattery. For me praise and flatery are different. Praise is for an accomplishment. Flattery is not for an accomplishment.
