For the asphalt part itself, use one of the persistent herbicides. Roundup will kill the growing plant, but will not persist.

If the driveway borders an area where you want desirable plants to grow, you'll have to stick with Roundup or one of the similar products. You also might want to spread a pre-emergent crab grass product to stop more from sprouting.

Try applying a little oil on the grass. This will kill it.

have you tried to pour straight bleach in the areas? That is what I do around my fence area and on driveway and sidewalk.
