still on show. Elton John stated when Fantasia and two other black girls were in the bottom three that America and American idol was racist. so using his logic its still a racist show. Agree?

Just because Elton John makes a sweep statement over American Idol that stirs controversy doesn't mean the show is racist. I don't watch it maybe it is, but if that's true just don't watch it anymore. I honestly don't need another season of this repetitive washed-up show.

Oh God...... that is so pathetic. Do I like the show....no. But how can anyone call it racist? There have been ups and downs with the contestants. Singers that get sympathy votes beat out singers with talent ( Season 1 Nikki lasted longer than Tamyra ) It's not racist, it just sucks that in reality the votes are left up to mostly teenage American girls.

Elton John should stick to his music!!!!

He has no idea what he is talking about - look at the top 3 favourites for this season!!!!

He obviously has NO idea what so ever!!! It's a shame that they can't get him in to trouble for saying that!!!

Why does it all have to come down to something being racist??? Reuben,Fantasia......... - yeah America is racist - SHUT UP ELTON you idiot!!!!

I don't get what you mean about Fantasia. She WON the year she was on. I guess that means it must have been racist the year that Ruben beat out Clay Aiken who has clearly been more successful than Ruben has. I think Elton John needs to keep his mouth shut. It's a singing contest. Don't try to make it more than that!

I think the Fantasia thing was pushed by the producers because they liked the idea of having a winner with her background. In my opinion, she was in no way the best contestant.

But, this season, from the beginning it was clear that the four best performers were all black women. No racism - it just fell that way.

Elton John should keep his mouth shut. He doesn't know (and we don't care) what he's talking about. Just another windbag. Stick to your singing, Elton!

Disagree. In the six seasons the show has been on, there have been three Caucasian winners. And as you may recall, last season's last two contestants were also Caucasian

Since America votes for who they want to see on American Idol, it would be America who is racist...... wouldnt it?
