i had asked the question before but i think i people read it wrong or i worded it wrong so let me try again. ok so i went to the pet store 2 weeks ago to go get a new platy and wen i was looking in the platy tank i sa like 10 male platies and 5 female platies so i took her home and put her in y tank now 2 weeks since i had her she didnt look pregnant but she has a low stomach not a wide one so i wondering is she could have about like 3 babies in her stomach because shes bin layting on the tank floor all day so i think she might be in labor

It's possible she only has a few there. She's probably still young and that often means a smaller first few batches of babies.

Platys tend to go into the plants to give birth and you can normally tell if she is pregnant as her tummy will be black, they tend to have more all rounded tummy's not just a low one. they are one of the only communal fish that don't eat their own fry. platys also give birth to around 100 fry over 2months so only having 3fry inside her is unlikley, hope this helps a little.

i have yet to have a live breeder that layed around the bottom of the tank to have young. It is possible that she is young and will only have a few, however remember she will still be pregers once she has her little ones. there is no way of knowing when she got pregnant so there is no way of knowing how far along she is. I would alsokeep an eye on her for other diseases.

She might be. the younger they are the smaller fry they have. Wait until she gets older you'll have so many fry you'll not know what to do with all.
