im having my choir concert tomorrow. i really don't want to go. the teacher said if were not going we have to have a note by our parents a week before. but i didn't do that. im on the top row on the risers and i get so hot and dizzy. i told my friends and they say shut up. there's no back thing that you can lean on. today when we practiced in choir, i got so hot and i was wearing a short sleeved shirt with pants and flip flops. most of the other people wore sweat shirts and no one else was hot but me. what should i do? i can't go to the concert. the teacher said it's worth most of your grade and i don't want to get a bad grade in choir. im a great student who always gets A's in choir. he told me i was his favorite student because im the only one who really sings and i have good conduct. everyone else is always getting introuble but me. i don't want to let him down. were singing ten songs. i get so hot. it's like flashes of hotness that last ten seconds. what should i do? we have to wear these hot robes and there's these bright lights that shine on us while were singing. even without the lights, i still get hot. it's gonna be way worse at the concert. what should i do if i get hot? i talked to the teacher and he said i have to go and i drink enough fluids. im not pregnant or dehydrated. what if i get hot at the concert? i know i will. i told my grandma about it and she can't wait to see me. i can't let her down either. i told my mom and she doesn't care. how can i avoid getting hot? when i get hot, i blush and people stare. i feel weird and can't concentrate. help!

First, drink lots of water. Second, don't worry so much - a few folks will be there to see you but everyone is NOT looking at you. The other peopple are going to be there to see their family member or friend. If you get hot, don;t think about it. Keep your mind on what you are singing. If you can, you should have fun and enjoy yourself - forget about anything but the perfomrance and you'll be fine. You are just experiencing a little stage fright but don;t let it get the best of you. Your instructor already told you how well you do so be proud and have a bit of confidence in yourself. It's okay and you will do just fine.

I know how you feel. I think you should not stand on the top row though. You don't want to fall off if you are that nervous. Tell the teacher you are going to stand on the bottom row on the end. Have your Mom write a note saying that you need to stand on the ground because she does not want you to fall off that top riser. Also, bring a little stool (I stand on the bottom) and when I feel I can't stand no more, I lean/sit on it. Have an iced bottle of water under your robe to cool off. If you sweat, bring a cloth to wipe your face with, that also will keep you cooler.

MOST IMPORTANT - DON'T STAND ON THE TOP ROW! Tell the teacher what you are feeling and tell him you will sing if you can stand on the ground. That way you can still get your grade and you won't be so stressed.

Everybody goes through this - especially if you are all stood so close in a smalll area.

Just make sure you have plenty to drink before hand (though not too much - you might need the toilet)
Try and make a little space for yourself. It may just be nerves -so just try and keep yourself relaxed and not think about it so much - that'll just make you blush more. =)

You are not going to die!!!
