I think there should be 3 coaches. For Batting, Bowling and Fielding. On top of them there should be the CRICKET MANAGER.
Cricket Manager: Tom Moody
Batting Coach: Mohinder Amarnath
Bowling Coach: Prasad
Fielding Coach: Robin Singh.

According to me John Bachuman who coached Australia will be an ideal coach for India as he is instrumental in developing Australian team to this level. If he is not available, Tom Moody will be another ideal choice as he has turn around Sri Lankan Team/
