Looking for a Contemporary Christian song to suggest for a 13 year old boy to sing at a conferance event. -solo with a track available.

Oh! There are so many good contemporary Christian bands out there...where to start? But for a thirteen year-old boy, I would suggest something by Relient K. All of their CDs are great (Their first, Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek, Two Lefts Don't Make A Right...But Three Do, Mmhmm, Five Score and Seven Years Ago). The song writer and lead singer, Matt Thiessen, is a complete wordsmith ("we should get jerseys, cause we make a good team, but yours would be better than mine, cause you're out of my league") making for witty and memorable tracks. There are the fun songs, like Sadie Hawkins Dance, Lion-O, May the Horse Be With You, High of 75, and the more serious, such as For the Moments I Feel Faint, Getting Into You, and Be My Escape. Anything by Chris Tomlin, Kutless has some good tracks out, Aaron Shust has a couple of good ones too, David Crowder has some good ones. Go down to your local Christian bookstore, most have a section with performance tracks.

Look up the band MercyMe. They have a lot of really good Christian songs. Another good song is "This is the air I breathe..." I don't know who it is by though. A 13 year old boy could sing it.
