Throw all all of it away and see how good you feel. If you don't feel absolutely fantastic, then start hoarding again. If you can't throw the stuff out, have someone you trust do it.

Oh my sister suffers the same problem, actually half my family does. I used to hoard things also. Until I got so sick of the clutter. A good thing to do with your mag's is take them to your local doctor surgery or somewhere that has mag's in the waiting rooms. That way you will be cleaning out your clutter and also feeling as though you are doing something generous and good for the day. As for the newspapers as soon as you have finished reading it, make a habit of going straight to the bin and binning it. Good luck :)

have a list of what's essential to you and those that should be thrown away. then, start removing the things you've kept that are not useful to you anymore. you can donate these to people who needs it (at least the thought that other peole may need it helps). or sell it to the junk shop (newspapers and magazines for recycling).

do it constantly until you're sure that you have overcome your problem.

Items in general - If you haven't used it in a year throw it away. Mail - stand outside next to a garbage can and throw the junk away before you walk inside. You are placing too much value in material items. You might be using them to fill a void. Throw things away and free yourself. It feels great!

Do not say "I can't." Say, "I find it difficult." Then start tossing junk, or giving it to charity.
