some barks but it won't give you much nutrients, and some bark (like wild cherry) contains syonide and other harmfull poisons

If you had to, yes. I would not recommend it if you are not familiar with the different types of edible bark. A lot of the trees out there would make you very sick if you ate the bark. Also bark is not that nutritious. There are several molds and lichens that would serve you better. Insects are also a good source of food. Every thing you need to survive is in the woods but you need to know what is and is not good for you. Do a search on survival, you might be surprised what you find.

Most bark lacks nutrients, or contains dangerous stuff. However, cinnamon is a bark and we eat that all the time.

There are some barks that might help you live in an emergency, but in those situations, there is usually something better nearby.

Euell Gibbons used to do a commercial where he started out, "Ever eat a pine tree? Many parts are edible." And all the kids would repeat that again and again thinking it was so funny. I have never resorted to pine trees, but according to the grape nuts commercials, it can be done!
