Well, according to the CIA website (https://www.cia.gov), there is no religious requirements of any sort to apply to work for them (from the website: "CIA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Agency does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, or sexual orientation in granting, denying, or revoking security clearances.") I can see how some Mormons would be desireable to agencies like the CIA (who expect high personal integrity and honesty from their employees, which is something Mormon doctrine urges). And as has been pointed out, I'm sure that American Mormon missionaries have returned from foreign missions would be valuable to an agency like the CIA, which is the foreign intelligence agency of the United States government, since they've spent two years immersed in the language and culture of another nation.

The CIA is NOT made up exclusively of Mormons.

HOWEVER, Both the CIA and the FBI do look very favorably upon Mormons.

Because of Missions, Mormons are often Bi-lingual, well-spoken, and culturally aware from having lived in a country for two years.

Abstinence from pre-marital sex, drug use, and alcohol make them reliable, have good judgment, and difficult to persuade, corrupt, or bribe.

They believe in being good citizens and are often patriotic.

Education is strongly encouraged.

These are all things that the CIA and FBI look favorably upon.

Are you talking about the missionaries? LOL. look, when I was living in the Dominican Republic I used to hear people saying that those missionaries wearing a white shirts and ties were secret CIA agents sent to by the US to the DR to spy, and I also heard that there were so many missionaries there because mormons used to think that Jesus was born in the Dominican Republic and that they believed that only the people from the DR would be saved.... lol, it makes me laugh. By those days I was a "catholic" and I was not into the LDS church and I didn't know about their beliefs and why we had so many missionaries there. I always wanted one of them to stop at my house and talk to me about the church, what they believe, why are they there, etc... but sadly it never happened. Now, years later I am a mormon and the missionaries visit me weekly and I see them in church too and I can tell you that they are not CIA or FBI agents, they are polite and smart young men serving on a mission in order to teach about the Book of Mormon and the restored church of Jesus Christ! duh! Jesus wasn't born in the DR and the US government has nothing to do with the missionary service of the church. I want to serve on a mission someday, maybe when I graduate from college and believe me, I don't have any affiliation with the CIA or any other secret service organization, I wish I was but I don't. It would be cool to be a secret agent like in movies, lol.

I doubt it, there is suppose to be a Mormon maffia, that guards the oresident of the church, he has a bunch of CIA looking guys that have ear oieces in their ears and look like CIA guys and protect the president of the church. I saw this in a UTAH parade, when he was appearing in the parade, he was in a black car and he had the CIA looking guys in black suits walking up and down the street next to him, looking for possible snipers as the president waved to Mormons on the street.

Where did you get that idea? Is it because the CIA agents in movies are always wearing suits and ties, like the Mormons who go from door to door handing out the "Watchtower"? I think it is very improbable that the CIA forces its members to belong to one certain religion. Sorry, I don't know of any websites where you could bet that sort of info. I'm sure it's all classified information, anyway.

The rumor is, that the government tries to recruit from returned missionaries, because of their language skills. There are, supposedly, many Mormons in the CIA, FBI, watever, but not all of them!

Why would a person have to "back up" a site. It's common knowledge that CIA or FBI any Government job would be prejudicial to state a religious preference for the job.
