It's 4 am where I am and I'm still wide awake. I've tried a warm bath, drinking warm milk, reading, watching a movie, laying still, and even counting sheep. I'm exhausted and still can't fall asleep. Any ideas?

Thanks for the ideas, really.
I don't have any vicodin and I don't believe that should be used as a sleep aid. Isn't that for pain?

sex probably would help, but there's nobody here! I just ended up staying awake all night. I'll probably be able to sleep tonight.

huh! This is probably the first "straight" answer I've given all week!
(feels kinda ackward!?)
What I've done in the past is a form of self hypnosis. Lay on the bed, get real relaxed. You'll be breathing and counting in 7's. Inhale slowly for a 7 count. By the way, the counts are based on your heart beat. Hold for a 7 count. Exhale for a 7 count. Hold for a 7 count. And as you are doing this, notice your foot/feet getting even more relaxed. Next, your calves. Very slowly, continue all the way to your head. You will feel your body getting heavier, more relaxed. If you can practice this for 30 minutes, even if you can't fall asleep, you will become extremely rested.
Good luck!
And that satisfies my "straight" answer quota for the day!

At that point I would just stay awake. I have to get up at 5 tp get the kiddies up and ready for school so I wouldn't even bother to try. I bet you will be able to sleep tonight but it is going to be a long day for you. Sorry, hope you sleep tonight.

if this is a chronic problem...as was mine ...you will need a perscription sleep aid like ambien or klonipin...I take klonipin....if it is not a chronic problen go to a local G.N.C. and get some melatonin...it worked for me in the beginning of my insomnia for a few weeks ,but was in effective after that, but for short term use and infrequent use it worked well

NyQuil or alcohol.
Seriously, I feel for you. Been there, done that. I think you're trying TOO hard to fall asleep. Just read or something and you'll get sleepy.

I get that problem. It's important not to sleep through the day if you can avoid it. Crash around 8,30 pm so that you don't mess up your sleep patterns.
